BOXING BY SYD VANDERPOOL HOSTED THE OBA'S FIRST EVENT NIGHT OF THE YEAR
February may be cold, but the matches were hot at FEBRUARY FURY, the years first amateur event. The Grand Ballroom at the Delta Hotel was standing room only for a great line up of Exhibition and Sanctioned bouts.
Making their first appearance in the the ring, both Darius "Shorty" Schott and Lonnie "Destruction" Duchesne made a great impression to the home crowd. While the judges did not hold them in favour, it is obvious that great things are ahead for both of these Destiny boxers.
Alan Yescas pulled out his first win in the ring, with a composed display of boxing ringmanship.
David "Put Em In The Grave" Murray was also in action, losing a tough decision by the judges after an exciting and eventful 3 rounds.
Shawn "The Flurry" Murray and Lucas "Death" Rowe saw exhibition action, displaying great technical skills in two very riveting matches.
What a fantastic way to start off the year! Watch for new information about the upcoming Golden Gloves Tournament to be posted soon!!
